Death Proof Cabinet is a limited-edition furniture piece developed as part of Sara Szyber’s collaboration with Misschiefs. Handcrafted in Sweden, the cabinet was produced in an edition of five (all sold) and constructed from birch blockboard with a printed checkerboard pattern. Referencing traditional wood inlay, the pattern is industrially printed to reframe ornamentation through contemporary production techniques.
The cabinet combines graphic surface treatment with sculptural detailing: a concealed keyhole hidden behind a silver skull, paired with a lacquered metal top shelf and leg frame. Balancing craft, symbolism, and industrial processes, Death Proof Cabinet negotiates the tension between tradition and a disruptive visual language.
