• Another exhibition linked to Christopher Polhem at Tekniska museet (Stockholm). History and future meet at Slussen – today’s debated construction rests on the foundations of Polhem’s lock from the 1750’s. The area around the lock of Slussen in Stockholm has an ancient history as a major hub for transportation and travel, both on land and at sea. The exhibition “Polhem and Slussen” tells the stories of the different locks throughout the ages, as well as the City of Stockholm’s plans for a new traffic solution and the alternative plan that many opponents have gathered around. The centerpiece of the exhibition is a wooden model of Christopher Polhem’s lock from 1766. (Tekniska museet, 2013)
